ANNEX 1 | Protected sites - Geological Survey Department (Metadata of Data)

Data originated from the Geological Survey Department

concerning Protected Sites. Data include Geomorphosites (polygons of sites that

the Geological Survey lists with the Town Planning authorities for protection.

Their need for protection depends on their scientific, cultural and/or austhetic

value. This protection arises from the Geological Surveys Law of 2013 which

states that the Director of the Geological Survey has the authority to research

and study geomorphosites and fossils and list the sites and measures for their

protection)
