Statement

The dataset is migrated from the icelandic data set: "Friðlýst svæði á Íslandi" (e. Protected Areas in Iceland). The working proceedure for that dataset is ongoing, i.e. when The Environment Agency of Iceland deliveres new information about protected areas, the dataset is updated.

The data provides information about location, size and types of nature conservation areas in Iceland according to the nature conservation act nr. 44/1999. It is derived from the Icelandic dataset "Friðlýst svæði á Íslandi".

The processing steps: Feature mapping from the national datamodel to the INSPIRE datamodel. A python program build to migrate the national data according to the feature mapping.
