Species and habitat monitoring sites (data)
The main purpose of the monitoring programs is creation of a structure of an information system that is capable to operate and supply information about objects that are included in the EU Bird and Habitat directive and Latvian specially protected species and habitat lists ( http://www.daba.gov.lv/upload/File/DOC/PR_VM_4_BIODAUDZV_2015.pdf). The selectected objects are chosen so that: • Requirements of the Latvian National regulations are fulfilled; • Priorities of the EU directives and Latvian National policies are fulfilled; • The international commitments regarding to conventions that Latvia has joined are fulfilled.
