Distribution maps fish

The dataset contains generalized distribution maps of fish species in Norwegian waters, based on the species manager's interpretation of the distribution over the past 30 years. The data behind this dataset, and more information on the various species can be found at https://www.hi.no/hi/temasider/arter and https://www.hi.no/hi/radgivning/kvoterad.



The map layers are divided into thematic layers for the different species. Examples of thematic layers for fish are distribution areas, spawning areas, feeding areas, wintering areas, etc.

A validity area has been defined for most species distribution maps. The spawning areas are time-limited, the validity is listed in the attribute table.
