Ramsarområder er beskyttede vådområder med særlig betydning for fugle. Et ramsarområde er ét af tre slags internationale naturbeskyttelsesområder: EF-fuglebeskyttelsesområder, EF-habitatområder samt Ramsarområder.

Ramsarområder er udpeget på baggrund af "Konvention af 2. februar 1971 om vådområder af international betydning navnlig som levesteder for vandfugle". Danmark har udpeget 28 Ramsarområder med et samlet areal på ca. 7.300 km². Det samlede areal er fordelt med ca. 6.000 km² som marine områder og ca. 1.300 km² på land, idet de danske Ramsarområder ofte omfatter strandenge eller andre arealer, der grænser op til vådområderne.
