HU: UNESCO „Ember és Bioszféra” Program (MAB)
Az UNESCO MAB programja egy a 70-es évek elején indított kormányközi tudományos kezdeményezés, melynek fő célja az ember és a természet közötti harmonikus kapcsolat fenntartása. A program eredeti, elsősorban rezervátum szemléletű koncepcióját az 1995-ben elfogadott Sevillai Stratégia és Keretirányelv új alapokra helyezte, jelenlegi fő cél a biológiai diverzitás védelmén, megőrzésén túl a fenntartható fejlődés lehetővé tétele, valamint a kutatási és az oktatási tevékenységek elősegítése. A területek nevezését az egyes országok indítják el, melyet az UNESCO elbírál. Magyarországon jelenleg 6 MAB terület található.
ENG: It is an intergovernmental scientific program (launched in the early 1970’s) of the UNESCO aiming to improve relationship between people and nature.
The biosphere reserves are nominated by the national governments then approved by the UNESCO. The aim of their establishment is to conserve biological diversity, promote sustainable development and serve areas for research and education. Hungary has 6 biosphere reserves.
