The identification of the Flood Hazard areas is based on the results of the modelling exercise carried out as part of the National Flood Relief Project (NFRP) which objectives where to avert increases in risks to life and property and control damages caused by uncontrolled surface water runoff in the 4 priority catchment basins of Msida, Gzira, Qormi and Marsaskala.
