Die Geometrie wurde unverändert von der geologischen und tektonischen Karte der Schweiz 1:500000 übernommen. Die Polygone wurden mit Hilfe der gedruckten geotechnischen Karte (2. Auflage; 1963-1967) zusätzlich attributiert. Die Auflösung am Boden kann bei abgeleitetet Themenkarten nicht exakt bestimmt werden, da die Lage der geologischen Objekte der Interpretation des kartierenden Geologen unterliegt. Sie weichen zusätzlich durch Gewichtung und Generalisierung vom eigentlichen Ort ab.
