Foi usada toda a informação altimétrica e de hidrografia da Carta Militar de Portugal (série M888), após várias edições para adequação aos objectivos do trabalho. Foi construído um MDT que por sua vez serviu para a geração destas bacias hidrográficas (e da respectiva rede hidrográfica hidrologicamente correcta), com condições de serem Geocodificadas automaticamente.
