NLS-FI INSPIRE Hydrography Theme Dataset
NLS-FI INSPIRE Hydrography Theme Dataset is a dataset depicting the Hydrography Physical Waters covering the whole of Finland. It contains the following INSPIRE feature types: Dam Or Weir, Land-water Boundary, Rapids, Shoreline Construction, Standing Water, Watercourse.
The elements are updated approximately every 5–10 years. The dataset is based on the NLS Topographic database:
The dataset is available via the NLS-FI INSPIRE Download Service (WFS) for Hydrography Theme and it can be viewed via NLS-FI INSPIRE View Service (WMS) for Hydrography.

Dataset is an INSPIRE conformant dataset. Included feature types from INSPIRE Hydrography Theme: - Dam Or Weir, Land-water Boundary, Rapids, Shoreline Construction, Standing Water, Watercourse. Excluded feature types: - Embankment, Lock, Shore, Drainage Basin, Ford, Crossing, River Basin, Wetland, Sluice, Falls and all Hydro Network feature types. Remarks about INSPIRE conformity: Land-water Boundary - Includes also boundary between Baltic Sea and the land areas Standing Water - Most of the features are natural but there are a few reservoirs included (not classified) - Lakes covering large areas are divided to several features. Rapids - Includes also weirs and falls (not classified) Shoreline Construction - Includes breakwaters, piers and man-made shorelines (harbours and canals etc.) Watercourse - Includes some features from Crossing feature type (not classified) Dam Or Weir - All of the weirs are classified as Rapids
