DK INSPIRE AM Management Zones and Agglomerations (AQD)
I Danmark overvåger Miljøstyrelsen i samarbejde med DCE (Nationalt Center for Miljø og Energi) luftens indhold af forurening. Måleprogrammet er dels rettet mod de sundhedsmæssige aspekter af luftforureningen, og har dels fokus på luftforureningens konsekvenser for natur og miljø. I København, Aarhus, Odense og Aalborg og på en række målestationer uden for byerne er der opstillet udstyr, der måler luftens indhold af en række stoffer, herunder forskelige gasser og luftbårne partikler.

DCE udfører overvågningen af luftkvalitet for Miljøstyrelsen, og overvågningen udføres i overensstemmelse med EU's to luftkvalitetsdirektiver. I henhold til EU-direktiverne er overvågningen i Danmark inddelt i fire EU-zoner, hvoraf to zoner er større bymæssige områder, den tredje zone omfatter det øvrige Danmark, og den fjerde zone dækker hele Danmark.
