Depth curves WMS

This service contains generalized depth curves in the Norwegian Sea, as well as detailed shadow reliefs along the coast of Northern Norway. The data is not detailed. The depth curves come from very different sources and have widely varying quality and accuracy. The overview data must only be used as background information. The detailed shadow reliefs are of good quality because they are based on modern surveys.

Purpose

The data covers large areas and is suitable for use in an overview map at the scales between 1:200,000 to 1:10,000,000, equivalent to the coastal chart series or an overview chart series.



The depth curves can also be used for:

* overview planning or modelling in connection with activities in sea areas;

* research into ocean currents at the macro level.
