Le jeu de géodonnées de base «Installations électriques d'une tension nominale supérieure à 36 kV» comprend une vue d’ensemble géographique du réseau électrique suisse. Il constitue une base de données uniforme et à jour, qui sert à mettre en œuvre la stratégie Réseaux électriques (notamment la coordination de la planification du réseau et une coordination territoriale efficace) et la Stratégie énergétique 2050 (notamment le soutien à la délimitation de zones). En outre, une telle vue d’ensemble contribue à assurer la coordination avec d’autres installations d’infrastructure et à protéger les lignes électriques souterraines.
