Navigation installations
The Norwegian Coastal Administration administers a system of facilities for navigation guidance in Norway. This system consists of facilities operated by the Norwegian Coastal Administration, facilities operated by municipal ports and private facilities operated by others. Navigation guidance devices provide visual and electronic signals that are designed to assist in the navigation process for careful seafarers. However, it is not the intention to make it possible for seafarers to identify any boat or shallow or obstacle to sea traffic that exists in Norwegian waters that are otherwise navigable by ships. On the other hand, the Norwegian Coastal Administration shall ensure reasonable marking of the waters to the extent that the resources allow.
