Courbes de niveau

Un modèle numérique de terrain sous forme de courbes de même altitude décrivant le relief français.

Le produit "Courbes de niveau" est une version vectorielle des courbes de niveau altimétriques (aussi appelées « isohypses ») présentes dans les produits cartographiques de l’IGN.

Calculées à partir des données RGE ALTI®, elles permettent d’appréhender le relief de manière complémentaire aux modèles numériques de terrain (MNT) classiques et facilitent la superposition avec des données métiers pour un usage cartographique.

Purpose: Le produit « Courbes de niveau » est une représentation interpolée de la surface du sol. Il n’est pas toujours strictement conforme à la réalité, soit du fait de la morphologie du terrain, en particulier dans les zones de faible dénivelée, soit du fait de la qualité des données utilisées, dans les zones de surplombs par exemple.
