Državna mreža hidroloških postaja površinskih voda osigurava trajno obavljanje motrenja i sustavnog prikupljanja podataka o hidrološkim pojavama za potrebe državnih ustanova, javnosti, sigurnosti i očuvanja ljudskih života i dobara, prostornog planiranja, zaštite okoliša i upravljanja vodama te ostalih gospodarskih djelatnosti od interesa za Republiku Hrvatsku. Mrežna usluga je razvijena u okviru projekta „Povećanje dostupnosti prostornih podataka NIPP-a putem e-usluga“ sufinanciranog iz Europskog fonda za regionalni razvoj.
