Datasættet indeholder gældende tilladelser til efterforskning og indvinding af kulbrinter i medfør af § 5, stk. 1, i lov om anvendelse af Danmarks undergrund. Datasættet opdateres ad hoc og findes som en shape fil med polygoner. Tilladelsernes afgrænsning er defineret med geografiske koordinater baseret på European Datum 1950. I shape filen er data projiceret i UTM zone 32 N baseret på ED 50. Yderligere oplysninger om tilladelserne kan findes på Energistyrelsens hjemmeside og i styrelsens årsrapport om ”Danmarks olie- og gasproduktion, samt anden anvendelse af undergrunden”.
