Height DTM 10
Digital terrain model with heights in a 10 x 10-metre grid. The terrain model is a grid model with a resolution (grid size) of 10 x 10 metres.
Accuracy:
± 2 to 3 metres standard deviation in height depending on terrain and map data age in the FKB A – C area.
± 4 to 6 metres standard deviation in height depending on terrain and map data age outside the FKB A – C area.

The terrain model is suitable for various kinds of terrain visualisation for production of elevations and mountain shadow, for example. It is also suitable for calculating terrain slopes and terrain profiles and for basic mapping of areas where there is a risk of landslides. The terrain model is also used in flight simulators and to identify coverage areas for radar, TV and mobile phone services.
Terrain models are absolutely necessary for geometric correction when producing orthophotos.

The Terrain Model WMS service provides information on the nationwide terrain model (DTM 10)
There are two layers which indicate the areas in which the various datasets are used to build up the terrain model. Use the map application in Geonorge to display this service

Digital terrain model with heights in a 10 x 10-metre grid. The terrain model is a grid model with a resolution (grid size) of 10 x 10 metres. The grid is generated from what is known as a hybrid DTM structure using SCOP software. Elevations and peaks from FKB – Standard height data (FKB-H5), Coastal contours, water and major rivers with height information from FKB – Water data, Point archive Norwegian Mapping Authority (trigonometric points) and road centre lines from Vbase are height information used as a basis for the terrain model. Data such as elevations, peaks, coastal contours including islands and lake contours from N50 Map Data is used outside the FKB A-C area. There is some data of uncertain quality on the foreign side. The files are saved in DEM format to USGS and packed using WinZip. All files have EUREF89 as their datum. This grid model is produced in three different UTM zones, with relatively large overlaps between the zones. • All of Nordland and Troms is located in UTM zone 33.There are also areas that cover UTM zones 32 and 35 in UTM zone 33. This means that all of Norway is available in UTM zone 33. The files cover an area of 50 x 50 km (10 metres). Each file is extended by 200 metres in all directions, giving an overlap zone of 400 metres between two files.Different names are used for the nationwide terrain model, but these are the same files available from various locations. The datasets are called DTM 10 and DTM 50 at Geonorge.no The files are available to download under Digital terrain model at Norway Digital WEB Download. Again, there are two choices here: 10-metre grid and 50-metre gridSimilarly, the files can be downloaded free of charge from the Norwegian Mapping Authority's download website. The same files can be found here, with the descriptions Digital terrain model 10 m and Digital terrain model 50 m
