Orthophotos are digital aerial photographs in which the systematic distortions caused by the central projection, terrain relief and an image acquisition axis that is not always perfectly vertical have been corrected. The national orthophoto coverage is renewed annually.



This dataset always contains the most recent operational orthophoto mosaics for the entire territory of Belgium. When the most recent acquisition campaign does not provide full coverage, the dataset is composed of the last one or two campaigns. In the current version of the dataset, the most recent national orthophoto coverage consists of a combination of the 2023 and 2024 campaigns.



The orthophotos have a spatial resolution of 25 cm in Wallonia and 12.5 cm in Flanders and the Brussels-Capital Region. The source data are supplied by the Belgian administrative Regions. NGI harmonises these regional datasets (geometrically and radiometrically) into a single national mosaic, georeferenced in Lambert 2008 (EPSG:3812) and tiled according to the MapIndex1 grid.



The dataset is INSPIRE-compliant and can be downloaded as compressed JPEG2000 files (JP2) per MapIndex1 tile, with the corresponding world file (.j2w) and metadata describing the extent of the tiles.

Les orthophotos sont des photographies aériennes numériques dans lesquelles les déformations systématiques dues à la projection centrale, au relief et à un axe de prise de vue qui n’est pas toujours parfaitement vertical sont corrigées. La couverture orthophotographique nationale est renouvelée chaque année.



Cet ensemble de données contient toujours les mosaïques orthophotographiques opérationnelles les plus récentes pour l’ensemble du territoire belge. Lorsque la campagne d’acquisition la plus récente ne fournit pas une couverture complète, l’ensemble de données est constitué de la dernière campagne ou des deux dernières campagnes. Dans la version actuelle de l’ensemble de données, la couverture orthophotographique nationale la plus récente est constituée d’une combinaison des campagnes 2023 et 2024.



Les orthophotos ont une résolution spatiale de 25 cm en Wallonie et de 12,5 cm en Flandre et dans la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale. Les données sources sont fournies par les Régions administratives belges. L’IGN harmonise ces jeux de données régionaux (géométriquement et radiométriquement) en une mosaïque nationale unique, géoréférencée en Lambert 2008 (EPSG:3812) et découpée selon la grille MapIndex1.



L’ensemble de données est conforme à INSPIRE et peut être téléchargé sous forme de fichiers JPEG2000 (JP2) compressés par tuile MapIndex1, avec le fichier world correspondant (.j2w) et des métadonnées décrivant l’emprise des tuiles.

Orthofoto’s zijn digitale luchtfoto’s waarop de systematische vervormingen die te wijten zijn aan de centrale projectie, het reliëf en de niet altijd perfect verticale opname-as zijn gecorrigeerd. De nationale orthofotobedekking wordt jaarlijks vernieuwd.



Deze dataset bevat steeds de meest recente operationele orthofotomozaïeken voor het volledige Belgische grondgebied. Wanneer de meest recente opnamecampagne nog geen volledige dekking oplevert, wordt de dataset opgebouwd uit de laatste één à twee campagnes. In de huidige versie van de dataset bestaat de meest recente nationale orthofotobedekking uit een combinatie van de campagnes 2023 en 2024.



De orthofoto’s hebben een ruimtelijke resolutie van 25 cm in Wallonië en 12,5 cm in Vlaanderen en het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest. De brondata worden aangeleverd door de Belgische administratieve regio’s. Het NGI harmoniseert deze regionale datasets (geometrisch en radiometrisch) tot één nationale mozaïek, gegeorefereerd in Lambert 2008 (EPSG:3812) en versneden volgens de MapIndex1-indeling.



De dataset is INSPIRE-conform en kan worden gedownload als gecomprimeerde JPEG2000-bestanden (JP2) per MapIndex1-tegel, met bijhorende worldfile (.j2w) en metadata over de begrenzing van de tegels.

Orthofotos sind digitale Luftbilder, bei denen die systematischen Verzerrungen infolge der Zentralprojektion, des Reliefs und einer Aufnahmeachse, die nicht immer perfekt vertikal ist, korrigiert wurden. Die nationale Orthofotoabdeckung wird jährlich erneuert.



Dieser Datensatz enthält stets die aktuellsten operativen Orthofotomosaike für das gesamte belgische Staatsgebiet. Wenn die jüngste Befliegungskampagne keine vollständige Abdeckung liefert, wird der Datensatz aus den letzten ein oder zwei Kampagnen aufgebaut. In der aktuellen Version des Datensatzes besteht die jüngste nationale Orthofotoabdeckung aus einer Kombination der Kampagnen 2023 und 2024.



Die Orthofotos haben eine räumliche Auflösung von 25 cm in Wallonien und 12,5 cm in Flandern und in der Region Brüssel-Hauptstadt. Die Quelldaten werden von den belgischen Verwaltungsregionen bereitgestellt. Das NGI harmonisiert diese regionalen Datensätze (geometrisch und radiometrisch) zu einem einzigen nationalen Mosaik, das im Koordinatensystem Lambert 2008 (EPSG:3812) georeferenziert und gemäß dem MapIndex1-Raster gekachelt wird.



Der Datensatz ist INSPIRE-konform und kann als komprimierte JPEG2000-Dateien (JP2) pro MapIndex1-Kachel heruntergeladen werden, mit der zugehörigen World-Datei (.j2w) und Metadaten zur Abgrenzung der Kacheln.
