Indicative coastal areas used for anchoring and mooring were mapped on the basis of various sources: primarily Google Earth satellite imagery (recreational boating and unofficial mooring of vessels), Authority for Transport in Malta coordinates/plans (marina concessions and organised moorings); Notice to mariners (official mooring area in Comino). The general use of various areas was also confirmed with said Authority.
