Statement

These files are definitive. The statistics are derived from the National Population Register which contains every person living on the Belgian territory and their residential address. Statbel (Statistics Belgium) assigns geographic coordinates to every person by using the georeferenced address registers from the regions and from the the Land registration authority. So demographic statistics can be produced for every grid cell by aggregation of point data.
