IFFI - Inventario dei Fenomeni Franosi in Italia - Dataset
L’Inventario dei Fenomeni Franosi in Italia (IFFI) ha l’obiettivo non solo di censire le frane verificatisi sul territorio nazionale, secondo una metodologia standardizzata e condivisa, ma anche di essere uno strumento conoscitivo di base per la valutazione della pericolosità da frana dei Piani di Assetto Idrogeologico (PAI), per la programmazione e progettazione preliminare degli interventi di difesa del suolo e delle reti infrastrutturali ed infine per la redazione dei Piani di Emergenza di Protezione Civile. Nel periodo 2001-2008 l’attuazione del Progetto è avvenuta mediante convenzioni. Le prime convenzioni (I Convenzioni IFFI) sono state stipulate nel periodo novembre 2000 – maggio 2001 tra il Servizio Geologico Nazionale e le Regioni/Province Autonome e si sono concluse nel 2005 per quasi tutte le Regioni. Le seconde convenzioni (II Convenzioni IFFI), stipulate nel 2005 tra l’APAT e le Regioni/Province Autonome per l’integrazione e l’aggiornamento della banca dati, si sono concluse tra il 2006 e il 2008. Dal 2008 le Regioni hanno trasmesso ad ISPRA eventuali aggiornamenti sulle frane in loro possesso. I dati sono aggiornati al 2017 per la Regione Umbria; al 2016 per Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Piemonte, Sicilia, Valle d’Aosta e per la Provincia autonoma di Bolzano; al 2015 per la Toscana; al 2014 per la Basilicata e la Lombardia. Per le restanti regioni i dati sono aggiornati al 2007.

The IFFI project (Italian Landslide Inventory) is carried out by the Geological Survey of Italy in ISPRA (National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) in cooperation with the Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces. Information on each landslide has been collected using the IFFI Landslide data sheet organised in three distinct information levels. Landslides are represented as a: georeferenced point, located at the highest point of the crown; a polygon; a line when the width is very narrow, as in the case of debris flows.

The IFFI Inventory, realized by ISPRA and Regions and Autonomous Provinces, aims at identifying and mapping landslides occurred in the whole Italian territory, following standardized criteria. The methodology is based on aerial photo-interpretation, historical documents and field surveys. In order to homogenize and integrate the landslide data for the whole Italian territory the Landslide data sheet has been defined on the basis of International standards of classification.
