Annual aerial orthophotographs of PNOA 2022

Digital aerial orthophotographs of the National Aerial Orthophotography Plan (PNOA 2022), flight of 2022 of the Autonomous Communities of Extremadura, Andalusia, Region of Murcia and the Autonomous City of Ceuta with a resolution of 25 cm.

The mosaics have been obtained from the most recent definitive orthophotos.

The dates of creation of each mosaic are:

Extremadura north: May 2023

Extremadura south: December 2022

Andalusia west: June 2023

Andalusia east: August 2023

Region of Murcia: May 2023

C.A. Ceuta: June 2023

Purpose

The PNOA is a cooperative project in which the General State Administration and the Autonomous Communities participate. It began in 2004 with the aim of obtaining digital aerial orthophotographs of the entire Spanish territory, the updating period is fixed, currently 3 years. Its objective is to obtain a homogeneous, continuous and true-to-reality image. They are distributed in COG format and in MTN25 sheet cuts. The maintenance process is continuous.

Specific usage

Aerial photography is the basis for cartography and geographic information in general, land cover, country planning, land registry, forest management, hydrography, etc. Using the same starting photogrammetric data, a geometric and temporal coherence of the cartographic and geographic databases are achieved. The characteristics of the products obtained in the PNOA meet the needs of all the administrations involved.

The orthoimages are available through the PNOA's WMS visualisation services ( https://www.ign.es/wms-inspire/pnoa-ma?) and the PNOA's WMTS tessellation service ( https://www.ign.es/wmts/pnoa-ma). They can also be downloaded from the CNIG Download Centre.

Orthophotos are generated by orthorectification of the PNOA flight photographs of 2023 with a pixel size of 35 cm for Murcia and 22 cm for Extremadura, Andalucia and Ceuta. The automatic mosaic line tracing method has been used using the ‘minimum radiometric changes’ algorithm with manual editing. The LiDAR DTM is used in which it is updated by manual editing and 3D break lines in areas of significant change. Mesh pitch 5x5 m.

Error medio cuadrático: para Murcia con GSD vuelo de 35 cm es 0,80 m y para Extremadura, Andalucía y C.A. de Ceuta con GSD vuelo de 22 cm es 0,50m.

Error máximo en cualquier punto: para Murcia menor o igual a 1,60 m en el 95% de los casos y no podrá haber ningún punto con un error superior a 3,20; para Extremadura, Andalucia y C.A. de Ceuta menor o igual a 1,00 m en el 95% de los casos y no podrá haber ningún punto con un error superior a 2 m.

Las discrepancias máximas entre ortofotos de fotogramas contiguos son de 2 píxeles de ortofoto y las deformaciones no serán apreciables a la escala 1/2500.
